All I have to say is, Miley, WTH? Seriously, WTH were you thinking? You are brilliant, and gorgeous, and have so much going for you.
I positively LOVED when you came out rocking your style and tats and said, I'm 20, this is me, love it or leave it! But... after all of that why on earth would you go all strung out white trash singing about dancing with Molly on MTV and with teddy bears? Who does that? Sorry. BUT! I really think you took it waaaaaay toooo far!
I will NEVER look at Teddy Bears, You or Foam Fingers the same. Ever. In fact I'm going to have to throw Robin Thicke in that mix too. I'm pretty sure they had to blur out the top half of his pants once you were finished with your lap dance.
What do you think? Striptease or stellar performance? Too much for TV? Is this a sign of the times? Would you let your teenager watch this?

I'm embarrassed for her...still in shock! What would her daddy think?
Being overseas I didn't get to see the monstrosity until this morning and I was appalled on several levels. For one the girl does have talent and I just can't fathom WHY she would want to act like that rather than use the talent she has. Second AYFKM with the tongue hanging out, what is that about?!
Third the VMAs don't come on super late why would she or anyone involved think that was an ok performance to be on TV before midnight?
I don't in the least feel for her, feel sorry for her, my heart does not go out to her...you want to "grow up and not be disney princess anymore" congratulations you have grown up...into a disgusting whore of a mess.
So many things. 1) That is not dancing. What happened to choreography? This was a strip tease. 2) Why do American women dance like this? Shaking their butts and humping things? I don't get it, it's not that cute, even if you do have a killer body (enter 20 year old girl here). 3) OK, so she's growing up and finding her own person, but I feel bad for her. Most of us get to do that kind of dancing on frat house floors or bar rooms in college. Poor girl just had her "right of passage" dancing episode on national television. I would be embarrassed if my 20 year old self had my "finding myself" phase in the public eye like this girl just did. 4) WHO is her manager?! Stop this insanity! 5) Growing up does not have to look slutty. Poor, poor, rich girl.
What the truck...... I don't typically watch the VMA's so I had seen comments on Facebook but I hadn't seen the performance until now. I want to erase my memory, there is no way I would let a child of any age watch that. Complete hot mess right there. If this a sign of the times I feel sorry for my 8 month old.
I actually just had another thought. What if she eventually has children? How is she going to explain that performance to them? And would she enjoy seeing her kid, boy or girl, up on stage in front of everybody acting like that?
The whole performance absolutely disgusted me. I have no idea who in their right mind thought "You definitely need to do this on stage in front of millions of people, it'll be a huge hit!", but they were dead wrong. She did it for the attention and she definitely got it, now everyone watching thinks she's slutty and white trash.
I cannot tell you how many times I've had to watch Hannah Montana, see Kaely singing and dancing to Party in the USA, and all that- but this??? WTF! It's... just... I don't know. I guess a huge part is that I cannot separate the fact that she was a child-star, and my little girl looked up to her- but still. I would not appreciate this performance from Madonna or Lady Gaga either, who you would expect it from. It's like watching a train-wreck... UGH
TRAIN WRECK... OMG... I just lost my lunch... gross, gross, gross... Why the VMA's allowed that on TV is beyond my comprehension. I feel so much dirtier for watching that. Anywho, I agree she is going to have some explaining to do one day if she has kiddos. Sigh, I have nothing more to say.
She's gross. Really gross.
Got to agree with the tongue thing, my 18mth thinks its funny I'd hope by 20 she would have grown out of it. I can't imagine the frustration of growing up in the public eye and everyone treating you like a child when your all grown up. But that preformance doesn't show us how grown up she is it shows us how immature she is. Shes engaged he's married, its there other half I feel for. If my hubby saw me doing that how would it make him feel. And being in front of the world how would it make them feel. The preformance belonged in a strip club not on the world stage.
This is what happens when a kid grows up her entire life being told that everything she does is great. :(
I think her whole goal was to get people talking about her. Shock value, negative publicity - it's still attention. So if that was her goal, then she accomplished it. I am hoping that Little L will grow up with more confidence and security than to have to seek public affirmation or attention through these very extreme measures.
I love how everyone is obsessed with what Miley did, and not mentioning the fact that a grown man is singing a song about rape culture, while allowing her to do this to him. How is his wife sleeping at night knowing this is what he does?! And no wonder boys think they can get away with "well, I knew she wanted it, she just didn't say so."
This was a totally tacky performance and I can't believe that she was allowed to act like this on television. Granted I realize that we can't control her actions but this type of behavior isn't something ANY CHILD should see. You should check out my post about her as well.
I am worried that kids will see this on social media, television, and from their friends at school. Kids still see her as Hanna Montana and don't always understand the realities of her growing up.
