What's yours is Mine! What's mine is Mine! The property Laws of a baby/toddler

I first saw this when I was pregnant...

The first tiem I read the property laws I laughed and laughed. Now that I have a baby on the verge of being a toddler... that list was not meant to be a joke, it was meant to be a warning...

The Mine Mentality has taken over. My sweet little baby is turning into a 'give me or I'll cry' guy. And what's worse, he doesn't want his toys, he wants my toys. As in, my iPhone, computer, cup of water, pots & pans, shoes, hair ties, cat's tail, pens & paper... Oh hell, anything and everything that does not belong to him. Don't even get me started on going through the kitchen cabinets.

It's driving me crazy. I spend the entire day shaking my head, saying, "No, that's not for you..." and then prying whatever it is that he shouldn't have out of his hands, only to give it back a few seconds later to stop him from crying. I know, I know, that's not exactly the right response, but you listen to him scream bloody murder and see what you do!

I promise Oliver has toys, LOTS of toys, he just doesn't want to play with them...

He is obsessed with the TV remote control.
So, we gave him his own (battery free) remote.

Silly me trying to do Christmas cards...
He ripped the box away from me and smashed it.

I took the box away...
So he set his sights on his next mission...
Daddy's toys...

NO! Oliver that's not for you...

I suppose I just need to get used to this new behavior, clearly it is just going to become the norm. What I need to do is be smart about this... I'm just not sure how yet. I need to figure out how to get Ollie to like his stuff, and leave mine alone. Ok, yes, as I typed that I realized how unrealistic that idea is.

There are no limits or boundaries anymore. It's Ollie's world, filled with Ollie's things. This whole Mine-Mine-Mine mentality makes me think back to my early days... Nothing was off limits to me... It was my world then. My older sister will be first to agree to that. And still to this day, my mom lets me live by the, What's hers is mine, way of life too.

Karma is a bitch, and my son is making me learn that the hard way...
