31 Fun Ways To Celebrate International Children's Day And #MilkLife For All It's Worth

Happy International Children's Day!

I'll admit, until now, I had no clue Children's Day even existed. But, hey, I've only been doing the mom thing for three years now, so at least I'm not that far behind!

That being said, I absolutely LOVE that there is a Children's Day. I mean, why not? There's Mother's Day, Father's Day, Grandparent's Day... Absolutely, children should have a day to celebrate them!  After all, not only are they beautiful little blessings, they are our future.

To honor my beautiful sweet child today, I'm going to coral the crazy toddler and celebrate Children's Day with fun activities. I hope you'll join me in doing the same! I've found a few fun ideas and activities, and a super cool challenge, to make this day special and #MilkLife for all it's worth

With summer at my doorstep, I'm starting a running list of fun activities to do this summer to stay active. Especially after the wild winter we just had; From October to the first week of April, it was cold and snowy. Now that it's warm and sunny, no way are we staying cooped up in the house!

So far my running list has:
  • Play brain game puzzles (Rainy day fun too!)
  • Climb around the park like a monkey.
  • Visit the Monkey's at the zoo (Whom I refer fondly to as, "Ollie's people")
  • Play dress-up
  • Ride the rides at the local Catholic picnics and carnivals
  • Go for trail rides and hikes
  • Do a little Mom and Me Down Dog Yoga session
  • Stomp in the puddles after a rain  (I put on my wellies and hop away too!)
  • Chase down the ice cream truck (and let Ollie eat my ice cream too.)
  • Have story time under a shady tree
  • Finger paint scenes from the backyard. (Ollie LOVES this!)
  • Splish-splash in the pool
  • Road trip
  • Take fun family selfies. (This is actually a ton of fun!)
Clearly, I'm on a mission to have very few couch potato and tech-time moments this summer. That's why I have teamed up with Milk Life to not only get me moving, but to help urge you to too! From May 11-June 10, Milk Life is challenging the nation to #MilkLife with a series of daily challenges. One new challenge is posted each day (That's 31 total!) and they are awesome! Over the last couple of weeks, I've been having a blast taking part in a few of them.

For the Thrill of the hunt, Ollie and I played hide and seek. The challenge was to hide a few things around the house, and encourage your kids to find them. But since Ollie's favorite game right now is hiding, then giggling like a crazy person waiting for me to find him, I opted for a game of hide-and-seek. For lend a hand, of course, we played in the garden, I had to transplant a couple of plants, so I let Ollie dig the holes. We ALWAYS star gaze thanks to my fancy app that tells us what the stars and planets are orbiting over us. And for Hit it into the park, something we LOVE to do, we went for a nice trail hike and then collapsed on a blanket in the park and swallowed sub sandwiches whole!

The Milk Life Facebook Page is LOADED with fun challenges and activities to do as a family. I cannot recommend enough that you check it out.  Trust me, a five-second scroll down the page will inspire you to get moving!

What I love the most about the month-long #MilkLife challenge is that is not only about the benefits of Milk as part of your daily diet regime, especially to fuel an active lifestyle, but how to live a healthy life as a family:

  • Milk has 8 grams of high-quality protein. Which could be the difference between just living life…and milking it.
  • Milk has 9 essential nutrients, including 8 grams of high-quality protein in each 8 ounce glass.
  • Start every day with the power of protein.
  • Including milk’s protein at breakfast can help you make the most of every day.

Today, Milk Life is challenging you to 'Chalk It Up' with a fun game of Hopscotch. And that's not all! Milk Life wants you to snap a photo of your family hop-a-thon and post it for your chance to win  some awesome prizes, including a year supply of milk!
