Our pre-party prep started at the local grocery store where FTD and Ollie touched, poked, rolled and rubbed every pumpkin, to find the two most perfect pumpkins--I was in the store getting Bloody Mary mix and snacks for the party. As usual we were running late, so we had to divide and conquer.
This was HIS perfect pumpkin...
It really was perfect, too bad I couldn't hold Ollie and take the picture at the same time!
Being the super lucky girl that I am, Pumpkin Masters, (the carving tool people), sent me a box full of different carving tool kits and strobe lights to use at the party. SO. AWESOME!
Needless to say, everyone at the party was super excited about using the Pumpkin Masters tools. Well... except for That One Guy... You know, the one guy who shows up to the pumpkin carving party ready to show off with his MASSIVE pumpkin and electric saw...
In all fairness... his pumpkin turned out super cool, but it only took him like 5 minutes to carve it with his power tools... Where is the fun in that?
And then there was FTD... Even though he had some really awesome tools, he still got a little over ambitious, lost sight of the design, then wrote, "what he thought of his carving skills" on the pumpkin, then walked off...
When you see it... you will know...
He wrote it clear, then tried to mask it.
This little tool by Pumpkin Masters is SO SO SO Cool.
You can shave designs in the pumpkin with it.
(It comes with three attachments)
Like these fancy veins... Or write on it like FTD did...
We also used the classic templates you roll over with this little perforating tool to make carving easy.
Have I mentioned how much I love pumpkin carving?
That's one of the pumpkins in the dark. How cool is that?!
OH! Wait... Wanna win a Pumpkin Masters Carving Kit Prize Pack? (Contest ends on 10/15 so we can get your tools to you well before Halloween!)
